About The Role:
Fantastic opportunity for an experienced estimator to join Bay Building Group. This is integral role is required to estimate and deliver accurate budgets, quotes and cost estimates for medium to large insurance claims & tenders across both residential and commercial projects.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Attend site to inspect, accurately assess and report on causation
- Prepare detailed scopes of work, clearly defining repair requirements and methods, ensuring compliance with state legislation and manufacturer specifications.
- Compile and deliver accurate budget breakdowns and costings.
- Liaise with contractors/suppliers to assist with preparing high level cost breakdowns and detailed repair structures.
- Work with the delivery team to prepare high level tender packages including construction schedules for submissions
- Have a detailed understanding and experience in the construction process, critical inspection points, permit requirements and WHS requirements
Skills and experience:
- Proven skills in construction estimating for domestic and commercial properties
- Ability to deal with multiple projects simultaneously with conflicting priorities
- Experience working directly with clients, building consultants and trades/suppliers
- High level of strong verbal and written communication
- Thorough understanding of the construction process from concept to handover and WHS requirements
- Ability to interpret plans, tender documents, specialist reports and engineers’ drawings.
- Understanding of relevant Building codes and Australian standards.
- Autonomous working capabilities
- Computer skill in estimating and Microsoft programs a requirement
